Chapter 1.

I heard the beeping around me, 2 steady, continuous, slow beats. I felt weak. I heard the beeping slowing down. Beep Beep. Beep Beep. All I could hear, all that I could feel, was the beating. Then it stopped. Then my heart stopped. Then my eyes opened. I saw a women at the door of this white room crying, sobbing into a man's chest. They looked so weak, so frail, so puny. I took in the room around me, an IV, a heart monitor, a small tv in the corner of the roof. I stared at the tv, and it turned on. There was a story on about a bank robbery, with the robber taking hostages. Good for him. I turned the tv back off. Now, I was bored. I stood up, and looked at the door again. The two people where still crying, and no one had yet thought to come in. I walked barefoot over to the locked door, and opened it. The two looked up shocked, and the women reached out to touch me. I recoiled, there was no way I would let her touch me. I started walking away, and turned the corner, dodging patients, visitors and the staff. The same man run up behind me. I turned around, and I pushed him too his knees. With my mind. Shocked people stared at me, but I no longer cares if these mortals stared at me. They were cattle, peasants, slaves. And I was their master. Two men walked up to me, obviously aggressive. I smiled, reached out with both hands, and poked their chests. They fell to the ground with heavy thuds. It's not like they mattered, there were still 7 billion more of them on this rock.
