In the bustling heart of New York City, amidst the towering skyscrapers and the constant hum of city life, lived a young woman named Y/N. She was a graceful soul, her essence as vibrant as the city she called home. Y/N was a young black woman of undeniable beauty and quiet strength, possessing an aura that drew people toward her like moths to a flame.

But there was one peculiar thing about Y/N – she wasn't like her three closest friends, Dina, Kalisha, and Aubree. While they were head-over-heels, heart-in-hand fans of the globally renowned K-pop sensation BTS, Y/N simply couldn't muster the same level of enthusiasm.

She respected their talent and understood the devotion of their fanbase, but their music didn't ignite the same fervor in her heart as it did in her friends'.

Dina started it all when the group debuted, a long-time fan of Taehyung, with his soulful eyes and enchanting voice. Kalisha found interest herself another day, melting in Namjoon's deep wisdom and poetic lyrics, while Aubree was captivated by the charming performances of Jimin.

The trio would spend hours talking about BTS, sharing fan theories, and dissecting their music videos. Yet, Y/N always found herself on the periphery of these conversations, content to listen and support her friends' interests without actively participating.

One chilly evening, when the first hints of winter kissed the city, a light snowfall dusted the streets of NYC. It was a day like any other until news rippled through social media that BTS was in town. The sensation spread like wildfire, lighting up everyone's trending feed. For Y/N's friends, this was a dream come true. BTS, their ultimate idols, were going to perform right in their city.

Not only that but Y/N's apartment complex happened to be in the same street where the venue BTS was set to perform. As the sun began to set, the excited chatter of fangirls filled the air outside her windows, gradually getting more crowded. Behind barricades, a sea of eager faces eagerly anticipated the arrival of their beloved idols.

Dina, Kalisha, and Aubree rushed their way over to her place via an Uber, practically quivering with anticipation, their eyes sparkling with the prospect of catching a glimpse of Taehyung, Namjoon, and Jimin up close.

A few minutes after being picked up and dropped off right near the barricade, a knock echoed through Y/N's apartment. Her three friends stood at the door, their eyes wide with excitement and anticipation. They wore matching grins that practically screamed, "Ahhh, they're on their way!"

"Come on, Y/N! You have to join us," Dina urged, her eyes shining with excitement. "This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. You can't miss it!"

Kalisha and Aubree chimed in, their voices blending together in excitement. "Yeah, it won't be the same without you," Kalisha added, her enthusiasm infectious.

Y/N hesitated, torn between her desire to make her friends happy and her own indifference toward the whole BTS phenomenon. She sighed, glancing at her friends' hopeful faces before concluding her decision. "Okay, I'll come. But it's pretty chilly, so we should come back inside right after you see them."

The three friends nodded vigorously, promising not to make a burden. With a reluctant smile, Y/N bundled up in her warmest coat and joined her friends outside on the short staircase.

As they stepped onto the sidewalk, the anticipation in the air was palpable. The atmosphere crackled with excitement, and Y/N couldn't help but get a bit nervous seeing so many girls standing behind a large barricade just meters away. They wanted to be discreet, deciding to casually walk past the grand entrance as if they were pedestrians looking to cross the street.

Bust just as they were about to walk past the barricades, a sleek black van pulled up to the venue's entrance, triggering the bodyguards to step outside to escort the artists and block their path for a moment.

The doors slid open, and out stepped BTS, one by one until they stood beside each other as a lavish group of handsome Korean singers whose fame preceded them. The crowd erupted into ecstatic cheers, but amidst the chaos, Y/N found herself fairly shocked, looking around as the wave of fangirls filled the street with squeals.

It was very fascinating to witness their popularity up close, cameras flashing everywhere around them. Seeing that the press photographers were taking pictures, the guards stepped aside to let them cross before the boys could, grabbing the group's attention briefly as they began to walk right in front of them.

It felt tense to do so, the cameras flickering brightly at a short distance from the girls. Feeling slight discomfort with the bright lighting, Y/N turned her face away to not feel the light in her eyes, accidentally locking eyes with one member in particular – Jungkook.

Time seemed to freeze as their eyes met, his eyes following after her as she looked away first, feeling tense to be perceived by a stylish celebrity as she was just wearing a hoodie and leggings, bare-faced with her hair not styled under her hoodie. She could still feel his eyes from behind, hearing her friends contain their squeals beside her as they continued walking down the street.

Despite the eye contact being brief, it was enough for Jungkook to hold his gaze on her as she continued walking off to the crosswalk as he followed his group into the venue, a spark flickering in his chest.

That girl was... gorgeous.
