1st Movie:
Gargamel found the Village of the Smurfs
They had no choice but to run away
In hopes of not being caught
But thanks to Clumsy Smurf
Some of the Smurfs end up in Real World
Or better say, New York City
Patrick and Grace Winslow lived there
They adopted a boy/girl with a quiet interesting defect
He/she could look normal at first
Then all of a sudden, can become little and have a white hat on top with pants/dress of the same colour
After meeting the Smurfs
Wilsons are planning to help them to find a way back home
At the same time, not let Gargamel capture them
But the boy/girl...
He/she is, if Papa Smurf is right, is a hybrid of a human and their kind
But... the good question is...
What became reason...?
2nd Movie:
Gargamel failed and was left in New York
The Smurfs, meanwhile, returned back in the Village
But...
As it's well known...
Gargamel never learns, he never gives up
So he created the Smurfs, who were created to capture Smurfette
But, as he said, they can die, since they are not 100% Smurfs
Bonus became the boy/girl, who is a hybrid of human and a Smurf
Gargamel has unfinished business with him/her
Patrick and Grace must help their little friends and son/daughter in yet another one fight with Gargamel
But, big surprise, boy's/girl's real biological parents were found
They made a deal with Gargamel
But their child hates them
