Emma Swan loved New York. She loved her job. She loved her apartment. She loved her son. And she loved her new boyfriend. Everything in her life was perfect.

That was, until a man showed up at her door that morning claiming her family was in danger and he needed to find Katherine. Emma had brushed it off, thinking someone had left the door to her building open and let a crazy person in. But now, sitting in the middle of dinner, the same man had appeared again, this time taking advantage of her boyfriend stepping away to use the bathroom.

"You!" Emma shouted as the man, dressed in all black, casually sat down at her table like it was the most normal thing in the world.

"I can explain," he said quickly, raising his hands in defense.

"You are a stalker!" she exclaimed, glancing around to see if anyone else was watching.

"Don't scream, just hear me out," he said, lowering his voice. "I just need to find Katherine."

"Okay, look. You think you're the first guy to try to use me to get to Katherine? I get it, you hooked up, she never called you again, but seriously-following me around is not gonna get her to talk to you," Emma said, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

The man blinked, taken aback. "Wait, what? Hooking up?" He ran a hand through his hair, trying to process what Emma had just said. "She's been seeing other people?"

Emma raised an eyebrow, amused at how rattled he seemed. "Wow, she really did a number on you, huh?"

He shook his head, trying to refocus. "Both of your parents are in grave danger," he said, leaning in as if that would make his claim sound any less ridiculous.

Emma crossed her arms. "You really have no idea what you're talking about. Both Katherine and my parents are dead."

"They're not," the man insisted. "And look, I have proof." He pulled out a crumpled piece of paper and slid it across the table to her. "Here's an address. If you want to know who you are, who you really are, go there."

Emma didn't even glance at the paper. "Leave. Now. I've got to tell Katherine to stop picking the craziest people she can find."

He ignored her, eyes intense. "Just go to this address and tell her that I'm looking for her."

Emma narrowed her eyes, leaning forward. "Give me one good reason I shouldn't punch you in the face right now."

He leaned back slightly, knowing he was treading on dangerous ground. "You really don't believe me? Try using your superpower."

Emma froze. Her superpower? How did he know about that?

"I know about it," he said, reading her expression. "Use it. See that I'm telling the truth. I don't want to hurt Katherine, or you."
