Leah was a normal girl. On the outside, that is. Her village was very... traditional. All the girls wore dresses and jewelry and makeup. The girls weren't allowed to go to school, read or write, and we're only supposed to marry, have children, and cook and clean.

Leah had tried to explain that she didn't want to marry, to have children, to cook and clean. Her mother only told her that "it's just a phase. Grow up and get a husband, I'm tired of you being a pain in my ass." Her father only hit her upside the head, saying "get it right, stupid girl, and finish the laundry already." Her Uncle John only laughed, saying "go back to playing with your dolls, little girl."

"No, your mom don't get it,

And your dad don't get it,

Uncle John don't get it,

And you can't tell grandma,"

Leah's grandma was old, and old fashioned as well. She knew that if she told her, she wouldn't make it, as her heart was week.

"Cause her heart can't take it,

And she might not make it,"

Once, she had stolen a knife from the kitchen and went into the bathroom. She was about to cut off her long dirty blond hair, when her mom barged in saying

"They say 'don't dare, don't you even go there,

 cutting off your long hair,

Do as your told'

Tell you 'wake up, go put on your makeup,

This is just a phase your gonna outgrow.'"

Leah was ready to give up. She wanted to just, go. Be done, no more. And than someone told her

"There's something wrong in the village, oh,

They stare in the village, oh,

There's nothing wrong with you,

It's true, it's true,"

And that was just what Leah needed to hear. That night, she packed up, and left the village, the whole way singing

"There's something wrong in the village,

With the village,

There's something wrong with the village,"

Even after she left, she felt the rumors fallow her.

"Feel the rumors fallow you,

From Monday all the way to Friday dinner,

You got one day of shelter,

Then it's Sunday hell to pay,

You young lost sinner."

In every town she passed, she was pulled into a church, told to "admit her sins, and be free", but she refused, and kept running until she met someone who said

"Well I've been there, sitting in that same chair,

Whispering that same prayer half a million times,

It's a lie, though buried in disciples,

One page in the Bible isn't worth a life."

And Leah had replied

"There's something wrong in the village,

In the village, oh,

They stare in the village,

In the village, oh,

There's nothing wrong with you,

It's true, it's true,

There's something wrong with the village,

With the village,

Something wrong with the village."

That day, Leah cut her hair short, got the funding for surgery to get rid of her 'lady parts', and officially changed his name to Grian.

"There's something wrong in the village,

In the village, oh,

They stare in the village,

In the village, oh,

There's nothing wrong with you,

It's true, it's true,

There's something wrong with the village,

With the village,

Something wrong with the village."
