CLARA YEAGER had never been interested in joining the military. She wanted to be a doctor like her father, traveling around the districts with whatever family she ended up having. The military was always her brother's dream, a dream that would never happen if Clara could control it.
Then their parents died.
After that, Clara's main focus was keeping the children alive. She was only four years older, but she was the only semblance of an adult they had. Clara didn't have dreams anymore. To her, there were no options. If she joined the military, the kids would get more rations since their guardian was gone. If she stayed, she would starve. If she left, she would establish herself in the Scouts enough to pave the way for Eren, since he was determined to be one. She would live long enough to protect him.
Clara shaped what was left of an aspiring doctor into a sharpened soldier. She became top of her class, top of her squadron, top of anything she could. She was a hardened, battle-ready soldier. For years, the life of being their protector fell into the rearview. Her life was full of blood and death and Titans, not the little smiling faces she used to coddle.
During the Battle of Trost, neck-deep in Titans, Erwin told her that the three of them had been deployed on their first day as Scouts. Suddenly, the division between Clara, a lethal soldier and Erwin's honorary second in command, and Clara, older sister and protector, had shattered. The tide was changing, the war was heading to a peak as it climbed the bodies of her fallen comrades.
And yet, all Clara could think about was protecting her people. Especially Eren, the little boy who always needed someone to come to his rescue.

NOTES. i am so excited for clara <3 it's gonna be an interesting dynamic between her and the trio. the story is basically eren supposedly being this big bad titan and clara's like "lol no he's just a lil guy." and if i get ONE comment about clara being too emotional or too kind/forgiving i stg,,,her life is falling apart basically every episode!! and being kind is not a fault, even if it does get her into bad situations
