~2010, Arizona~

Clarissa looked at the note again. Did the man of her dreams, the intelligent, calm, I'm-too-sexy-for-my-shirt David really ask her to be his date for the winter formal? Is the necklace box in her locker really from him? She continued contemplating until her best friend Annie interrupted her thoughts. "Hello Clari, I've been calling your name for five minutes straight. If we don't head to the cafeteria soon were gonna miss out on all the good seats!" she complained, but Clari just stood in utter silence. "Annie, look at this." She handed her the box and the note. Annie read it over and smiled at her. "Wow, he actually asked you to the formal!" Clari nodded. " am I dreaming?" she whispered softly. "I haven't even opened the box yet, can you open it up for me?" She fiddled with her hands nervously. Annie opened the box and gasped loudly. " Do you remember that necklace you bought in the Renaissance festival, the choker with the intricate dangle pieces? He got one that looks like one of the pieces! Its gorgeous!" Annie held it in the air for Clari to see. Clari herself gasped in awe and admiration. It was indeed the a piece of the necklace she got from the fair, it once belonged to a Felicity Hampshire, she married one of the most wanted bachelors and lived a prosperous life, or so she was told by the vender. She was told that it held secrets beyond her wildest dreams, and it was certain to bring good luck, so long as she wore it. Lady Felicity ran into some bad luck after she stopped wearing the necklace, and her husband killed her for unknown reasons. But Clari knew better, she wasn't going to let some old wives tale scare her from the article she was searching for her entire life. And now she might have the missing piece Lady Felicity ripped off before her marriage... "Clari, focus!" Clari snapped out of her thoughts. "Yeah?" "Are we going to the cafeteria or not?" " Lets go." Annie put the necklace back in the box and Clari shoved both the box and the note in her bag to contemplate upon later.

Michelangelo's POV

600 years. 600 years since I've been stuck in the necklace, 600 years since I've had to view the world as a spirit, an outsider but now... ha, now I can finally come back. A bride will be easy to find in this fast paced society. In fact, two girls have already touched the charm, its only a matter of time till someone wears it. I decided to look into the lives of the two who have touched it so far. The first one, Kiara, is a blondie with hazel eyes. Sadly she cut her hair super short and is your average, shallow, simple minded teenage girl, with nothing to worry about except her outfits, cheerleading, and boys. The second one on the other hand, Annie, has personality. A swimmer, artist, and musician, she stands out with her light brown hair with an oddly familiar purple streak... is that Luke's fiancé? Maybe I should tap into her mind and ask. Feeling confident, I entered her mind and greeted her as she enjoyed her lunch with a friend. " I had a feeling the charm was your Mikey," she laughed after greeting me. "Will Luke mind?" "As if, he's been dying for you to find someone worthwhile. And I think Clari is the perfect girl." "Who is Clari?" I asked, "the only girls who have touched the chain so far are you and this other girl named Kiara. Annie made a mental growl, and her friend must have noticed because a soft voice entered Annie's mind concerned with her well being. "Are you all right?" the tiny voice asked, and Annie shook her head. "The thought just occurred to me that it could be one of Kiara's tricks. She was with David, and she knows you've had a crush on him for the longest time." The growl I heard was neither a mental growl, or Annie's verbal one. It was sharp, short, and ferocious growl from this mystery girl Clari. Interested, I invaded Annie's vision to take a small look at her. The girl was petite, with silky looking chocolate hair that seemed to reach her lower back. Her eyes shone topaz, no....brighter, they were blinding yellow-brown Christmas lights. She held the box with my charm delicately in her nimble looking fingers. " If it was Kiara, then she won't recognize the charm a second time, she's too stupid to notice. Besides, I found the charm to the necklace I've searched years for, and I can fix it before the formal. If it really was from David, he would notice, he has the capacity to." She smiled to herself. "Well meet your newest potential wife Mikey, she's a keeper." Annie joked mentally. "Knowing her, she'll work on the necklace tonight and wear it to show me. Then you take that opportunity to materialize and plan a way to sweep her off her feet." "Why are you cool with this?" " You know I have issues with you liking David, Clari. I don't trust him, not even with a dead opossum." she said answering my question and making a declarative statement to her best friend. Clari looked a the floor and decided her lunch looked interesting. She hadn't taken a bite out of it yet, but now she took a bite and gathered up the courage to talk back to Annie. "Well he's not that bad of a guy, just because he went out with Kiara a couple times doesn't make him hateable." " She's probably going to make out with him when you walk in, or dump a bucket of blood on you, or set your dress on fire, or do some other stupid and horrible thing that will hurt your feelings. She's been pissed off at you since the sixth grade." "True, but that doesn't mean you have to hate him." she said softly and took another bite of her lunch. "He's probably in on it." Annie finished and we both waited for her reaction. I've never felt concerned about girls, mostly because they were so independent and strong, but Clari seems fragile and in need of protection. I felt horrible when I saw her eyes water. "Well a girl can dream can't she?" she whispered, and proceeded to rub at her eyes slightly. I felt an urge to hug her and to stop her tears, and Annie felt the same urge as well, because she reached over to embrace her. " Clari... don't cry please.. There are just better men out there. Lets fix the old choker and find dresses tonight, in fact we'll get everything ready early on so you will be drop dead gorgeous, even if David's planning on being a buttmuncher, I know there's gonna be a great man out in the crowd looking for you." " Really?" Clari's eyes filled with gratitude, and she hugged Annie even tighter. "You really are the best friend ever." I'm gonna be human again.
