Jealous Eyes

Jealousy is vertebrate bones shaking in retreat.
It's broken eyes and pupils split to a fine thread.
Jealousy is me forever rotating around a shallow sun
Blazing a red glare of despair.
Its a broken bird neck--
The emptiness of hollow hawk bones.
It's the ball being dropped with a heavy hand that scatter thoughts to the recesses of my mind.
Jealousy is the rage I find in others and the rage I can't overcome in myself.
It's a tree falling but not a soul to listen.
Jealousy is crushed clouds,
Burning whispers of desire,
Thrown ashes against a translucent sky.
Jealousy is me myself and I.
I can't release it
Not to a therapist
Not in a carving of a tree
Or a hateful text message.
Jealousy is the one thing I cannot release
No matter what they say.
Jealousy is the monster that can't keep me at bay.
With jealousy, I will never be okay.
Never fully,
Truly--
Jealousy is a game.
The one that I lose.
Day after day.
