Don't Look Back- Chapter 1

Chapter 1-  

  I woke up with a start as the sound of my alarm clock pierced the room and the sounds of the local radio station blasted causing my ears to ring.  

"Ugh," I turned off the alarm and laid back down on my bed with a heavy sigh, I hated Mondays, but then again I didn't know anyone who liked them.

  "Alexa!! Alexa, are you up yet? I'm coming in now!" My best friend Jessica entered my room with a look that was bright and cheery. I glared at her and she smiled at me and laughed. Of course I lived with the only person in probably the entire world who loved Monday mornings.

  "Yeah Jess. I'm up," I smiled at her and laughed. "I just got to shower, get dressed do my hair and makeup then well be off, it's not my fault we can't all be evil morning zombies like you." I laughed at her and got out of bed to get all the things I needed to go to school.  

"Well Alexa hurry up and get ready I don't like going to school late missing all of the gossip!" She turned and walked out of room and a small laugh left my lips. I took my things into the bathroom with me and got ready.  

"Okay Jess I'm ready!" I walked into the kitchen and grabbed my keys and my bag off the counter and headed for the front door. "Jessica! Come on I'm ready!!" I sighed and looked at my phone for the time; it was seven ten and had fifteen minutes to get to school. "Jess I'm going to leave if you don't hurry in the next two minutes!"

"Okay, okay, Alexa chill out I was talking to my mom about using the guest house this weekend. Guess what she said?!" Jessica looked at a huge grin slowly spreading across her face.

  "No way," I muttered. "No freaking way! I can't believe we get the guest house!" I was smiling so hard my cheeks were starting to hurt Jessica came over to me and took my hand as we walked out of the house then started jumping up and down with excitement. We settled down a bit but still had huge smiles on our faces. I began walking toward the car with Jessica in pursuit. We got into the car, buckled up, and headed to school talking, singing, and laughing the whole way there.

  As soon as we reached the school parking lot and I parked, Jessica quickly got out the car and ran towards our friends "Thanks for waiting for me, Jess!" I called after her with a smile on my face. I turned the car off, got the keys out of the ignition and grabbed my bag from the back seat. I set the car alarm and walked over to Jessica and our friends.  

"Hey Guys!" I said smiling at them as my boyfriend - Chase - walked over to where we were standing. He put his arm around my shoulder, and I sighed and leaned into him. I could have sworn I saw my friend Aimee glaring at us but as soon as I looked again she was smiling at me. I smiled back at her feeling a bit guilty for thinking she'd even give me that look, after all she was one of my best friends.  

"So, Alexa what's the plan for practice today?" asked a sophomore named Morgan. I slapped my hand to cheek and cursed silently under my breath. I let out a nervous laugh and said, "I kind of forgot about practice today do you guys have any ideas?" I looked at Jessica and blushed when I saw her trying to hide a laugh.  

"What's so funny Jess?" I asked kind of confused.  

"I knew you'd forget so I made something up for us, but the part that's hilarious is that I told you I did last night and it looks as if you forgot, again..." I tried to recall her telling me and sure enough she did. She should know by now that I don't listen to anybody while I'm on Facebook. I stuck my tongue out at her and turned my attention to my lovely boyfriend standing next to me.

  "How was your weekend?" I turned to him and smiled reaching up to give him a kiss on the lips, I went to turn around and he pulled me back to him to kiss me once more.

  "Oh get a room you two!" Aimee said in a teasing voice. I could feel my face turn beat red. Just as I opened my mouth to say something the bell signaled we had five minutes to get to homeroom. I turned away from Aimee and told them all that I'd see them later, I walked into My high school- Carus Valley High School - went to my locker, got my books, and headed off to my home room alone. I sat down and listened to Mr. Moore talk about the new student we were getting today. Great I thought. Since I was senior class president and kind of an in office worker, I knew I'd be chosen as the unlucky one to show them around. Just as the thought popped into my mind the loudspeaker went off. 

"Mr. Moore?" Linda, the secretary said. "Can you please send Alexa Mercer down to the office please?"  

"Sure thing." the speaker turned off and he pointed at me to come up to him. He wrote me a pass and told me to hurry and go so I wouldn't disrupt his class, I smiled at him and walked out of the class and down the hall to the office.

  "Hello Miss Mercer, right this way, we've selected you to welcome the new student and show him around." She smiled at me, and I smiled back. So it was a new guy. I sighed thinking it was probably a science dork. I looked up when I herd the door from the principal's office open, and I small blush colored my cheeks. "Or not..." I mumbled under my breath as he approached. I put on my best smile and extended my small hand to him.  

"Hi, I'm Alexa, Alexa Mercer, how are you?" I looked up into his eyes and saw that they were the most amazing eyes I've ever seen! Well it was kind of hard to explain actually since his eyes were greenish blue, with a hint of brown and had a teal-ish undertone to them I must have been staring because he raised an eyebrow, smirked at me and then shook my hand. I blushed and turned away when I heard him chuckle at me.

  "Who's your homeroom teacher, err...um I'm sorry what's your name?" I asked him casually.

"Mr. Moore and My names Justin Michaels, are you ready to go?" He asked in a rough yet smooth voice. I nodded my head and led him down the hall to Mr. Moore's room. We entered the room with him walking in front of me. I looked ahead, and sighed watching him walk.  This would be a long, long, day.    

      Okay so please, please, please comment on this and tell me if you like it or not I know it's started off slowly and boring but I'll try to make it better as soon as the story progresses.  I'll try to upload every 3 or 4 days so keep a look out.
