Chapter 4: The Adventure Begins
My heart pounded and my ears ached the flight to New York hadn’t exactly been easy. The people that stare at you and question what happened to your leg anger me. Honestly you don’t ask people that question, it’s like say, ‘Oh, she has cancer, how’d you get cancer?’ Some people just need to learn their own business.
For the majority of the flight I was either sleeping or watching movies but I could never get into a comfortable position to drift off into a deep sleep. Jess was sitting next to me and decided to fall asleep on my lap. She is so adorable when she sleeps. With her on my lap I couldn’t move let alone fall asleep again, so I decided to watch a movie. After constant channel surfing and flicking repeatedly through the movie channel I finally decided to watch ‘Charlie St Cloud’ one of my favourite movies of all time although I never got to see the ending of it because I would always have to go somewhere or do something, so what better opportunity than now.
Well so much for getting to the end. After about 30 minutes into the movie I fell asleep, great! Am I ever going to get to the end of this freakin’ movie?!?! Maybe it’s just not meant to be, but what a horrible sleep I had. Even Jessica had to move from her comfortable place on my thigh. I dreamt back to the dark days, 28th of March, 2008 and I was reliving the horror over and over again until, the next time the dream was different it wasn’t me it was Jodi then Jess and then Troy. It was horrible, it just made me think back to what I could have done to save myself but then again I couldn’t have saved myself. I could think of so many people to blame but it’s not what I agree to live by. It was no one’s fault, not even my own, it was simply nature taking its course and I was the targeted main meal.
