Peter Pan's New Adventure

A year had passed since Wendy had been to Neverland, a year since she had seen Peter. A magical place it was, and she missed it. Wendy was sitting by her window that was always left open. Just in case one day he did return. She sighed and looked up at the sky and her eyes fell upon a star. The brightest star of them all. It was the second star to the right. Wendy smiled at the star for it was Neverland. She wanted to stay with Peter forever, but she couldn't. She has to grow up. She has to one day be married and become a mother. She couldn't possibly stay a child forever. Unlike Pter who never wanted to grow up, so in Neverland he stayed without her. Hey eyes teared up and and she started to feel her heart ache for the boy that would never grow up. Peter Pan lived a life of adventure but was frozen in time, frozen in the world of Neverland. Peter couldn't possibly return the love Wendy felt for him, he never knew or felt it before. Wendy had attempted to kiss him once.

Peter stood infront of her going on about how girls talk to much.

"Maybe I should give you a kiss" Wendy declared

"A kiss? Okay" Peter replied extending out his hand

Wendy looked at the boy confused

"Do you not know what a kiss is?" She asked

"Well I'll know once you place it in my hand" Peter replied

Wendy looked at him for a while. She didnt want the boy to feel embarresed. She reached into her pockets and pulled out a thimble and placed it in his hands. The boy looked at it and smiled.

"Neat! So this is a kiss?' he asked

"Well its actually a thimble..a hidden kiss" Wendy asnwered him

"oh..so like burried treasure! When do I find the kiss?" he asked curiously

"You'll find it when your ready to grow up"

"oh..well Im never growing up, so i guess I'll never find it" Peter said while putting th thimble in his pocket

Wendy so dearly hoped that one day he would return. She sat there and remered their goodbyes.

"You wont forget me will you?" Wendy asked as Peter started to step of the window sill.

He laughed nervously, as he ran his fingers through his auburn colored hair

"Never!" he said

Wendy smiled at his answer

"Never is an awfully long time" she said smiling, trying to hold back the tears in her eyes.

Peter was struggling to, but he never let it show.

"Goodbye Wendy" And with that Peter Pan was gone.

Tears started to run down her cheecks as she finished the memory. She knew he would forget, and she knew he wouldnt come back. She started sobbing harder and quitly whispered his name.

"Peter" she said softly through her cries

"Dont cry Wendy" said a boyish voice

She froze and closed her eyes

"Peter..no this is a dream.."

"Open your eyes Wendy..its not a dream"

Wendy did as she was told. She opened her eyes and in pure joy said his name.

"Peter! Oh Peter you never forgot me!"

"I told you I never would"

Wendy smiled

"I've come for you Wendy" Peter said happily

"What? Oh Peter I love Neverland, but..I cant go" she said saddly

"Why not?' Peter asked

"Well I have to grow up"

"Why Wendy? Why would one ever want to grow up? Why would you want to replace your childhood and so much happiness with the worries of grown up things?" Peter asked taking her hand in his

"well because thats the way things are and have to be at somepoint, you have to grow up eventually. Thats why I can't go with you" Wendy said looking at thier hands

"But...don't you love me Wendy?..Because I love you"

Wendy looked at him in shock. He loved her? She thought about it for a minute.

"No Peter you don't" she said with saddness in her voice

"Yes! Yes Wendy I do love you!" He replied with excitment

"You dont love me unless you feel it"

"Oh, where would I feel it then?" he asked with wonder

"In your heart" she replies pointing at his chest

He looked down and placed a hand over his heart

"Then I do love you! I feel it in my heart, I really do!" Peter said smiling widely

"But you wont grow up!" Wendy stated

Peter thought and realized his love for Wendy was more important that anything else. Maybe he was tired of the same old adventures and growing up in the real world could be a new and excting one. He smirked as he thought about the kiss. the hidden treasure, the one thing that if he were to recieve would make him grow up. He was ready.

"Then Wendy..I want a thimble" Peter said smiling

Wendy looked at him, she knew what he meant. He was willing to leave Neverland and stay here with her..to grow up. Wendy smiled and she leaned up so that their lips meant. It was the best thing Peter had ever felt in this world. It was better than magic...it was love. Peter broke the kiss and smiled looking into her eyes.

"To grow up would be an awfully big adventure...but a wonderful one it will be"
