Droplets of Rain Upon the Lake

Tiny liquid droplets the size of marbles bounced on the

tense surface of the lake like balls,

transforming the placid water into a sea of shining glass…

The drops  fell so thickly, not a single piece part of the lake was still.

I stood upon the prow of the boat which floated in the water.

There were others in the boat, but they cowered under a covering,

Alone, I looked out across the moving water, undaunted.

Across the lake, green forested trees rose up from the beach

on hills of a watery green, diluted by the weather.

They rose to meet the the grey clouds, but fell short.

Blue sky filled the gap in between, dissapearing before the coming storm.

The transparent liquid slid down my coarse hair and soaked sleeves.

My eyes mirrored the color of the lake and I closed them.

I lifted my head to sky, embracing the rain.
