Echo Caddel was too clever for her own good. Her mind was the only weapon she needed in a world ravaged by grisha and gangs and strange impenetrable voids of darkness. The small sciences were nothing in comparison to logic and rationale ( or rather , that's what she told herself to sleep at night ). But when she flees Ravka, washing up on the bloodied shores of Ketterdam, Echo is met with a chaos that rivalled her own.

authors note: god I really need to stop making new stories when I can't finish the ones I have smh. now I love SoC as much as the next bitch butttt I am very excited for the Netflix adaptation of shadow and bone. although, im not quite sure whether this book will follow the show or the books (or both!) so if any of you readers have any ideas I'd love to hear them! right now I'm thinking I'll tackle season one of the show and then, if I'm feeling brave, jump into six of crows, using the show as a prologue to echo and her relationship with the crows, but who knows...
