Hey guys, Tahlie here!

I had the honour of writing a piece for the Writer's Digest's: The Writer's Guide to Wattpad! My piece is linked to FreeYourBody and the book comes out August 8! I wrote chapter 19: WATTPAD AS A TOOL FOR ADVOCACY. So many other writer's took part in this book and I'm so excited to be published in a book for the first time and to share it with FreeYourBody.

Nearly an Albino,
Your skin found nowhere to go.
          Trapped in between.
People say your beauty is within,
I don't know what they mean.

          I see your external beauty,
So why are they pretending it's not there?
Beauty may be in the eye of the beholder,
But you shouldn't accept their disgust.

          The peninsulas all over your skin, birthmarks and vitiligo;
Continents where melanin is supposed to be yet not damaging to your image.

Your beauty is enhanced by a skin disease many fail to understand:
They tell you to bleach the dark skin or cover the light patches.
I don't need to understand it to know that you're beautiful with or without it.

          You're an unexpected treasure,
          A sought out model.
          Don't fall under the pressure,
          It's an endless squabble,
          I won't have you grovel.

You prove that black and white alike are beautiful,
As well as whatever is inbetween.
You radiate acceptance of all since you're so colourful.
I see your external beauty, it's not just within.
