(Chloe's POV)

I walked down the hall towards the door, Natasha put her hand on my shoulder reassuringly. I stopped when we got to the door.

Natasha bent down so that her face was level with mine.

"You don't have to do this if you don't want to Chloe." She said quietly in French.

I looked at Steve then back at Nat and shook my head.

"It would be helpful to know the limitations of my powers. I get tired after using them for simple stuff. It would be nice to use them without getting tired immediately after." I said in French trying to convince myself more then her.

I took a deep breath as Steve pushed the door open. Inside stood Bruce, Tony, And Clint.

Bruce looked up from what he was doing.

"Hey! I'm glad you're here. Here." He said as he handed me a pill.

"What's this?" I asked with a scowl.

I had been given pills like this one, and when I refused take them Hydra force them down my throat. Bruce got a guilty look on his face.

"I'm sorry. Um... once you swallow it, it'll attach itself to your larynx, and from there we can monitor your vitals, and other stuff." He said trying to explain it.

"Wouldn't that hurt?" I asked with a grimace.

"Not really. It's actually painless." Tony said quite confidently.

I smiled, and then looked at Nat and grimaced. She shrugged her shoulders so I looked back at the 'science bro's'.

"Ok..." I said slowly. "But why would you need to monitor my vitals exactly?"

"So we know how your powers affect your health." Tony said without looking up from whatever he was doing.

I looked at Natasha, and then at Clint. Clint walked over to me and bent down so he was level with me.

"We want to test your powers Chloe. You don't have to do it if you don't want to, but we think that you might be a good addition to the team. But we can't let you join until we know how your powers affect you." He looked over at Nat then back at me.

"What do you say?" He asked.

I could feel my emotions getting the better of me and I didn't really care. I looked at Natasha, she smiled her approval. I looked back at Clint and nodded my head with a huge smile on my face.

"Oui! I'll do it! Merci beaucoup Clint!" I said as I hugged Him.

"De rien Chloe."

Tony looked over in shock at what Clint had just said.

"You... you... you can't just... you can't just promise some kid that they can join the Avengers Clint! There is a process! Bruce?!"

Bruce looked up what he was doing.

"Um... well actually... if she's powerful enough, and she has the skills... then technically if the majority say yes... then, well, she is by all standards, an Avenger." I smiled at Tony's defeat.

"I say let us give the little one a chance." Thor boomed as he walked in.

"I'm with Thor in this one Tony. Let's see what Chloe can do. And then we can decide what to do." Steve said as he walked over to me.

"Fine." Tony said as he slumped his shoulders.

"Shall we then?" He said as he motioned towards a room with glass doors and windows.

(Natasha's POV)

I watch as Tony and Bruce attach some wires to Chloe.

"Ok... everything looks good. I'm gonna write down your normal vitals so that we have something to compare to." Bruce said.

Ow!" Chloe yelped.

"What happened?" I ask.

"He poked me! Tony poked me! Hard!" She said reverting to French.

"Tony!" I said sternly.

"What! I wanted to see if she'd turn all green or something. No offense, Bruce." Tony said as he put his hands up in surrender.

Bruce looked up what he doing.

"I... I'm not sure I should be. Should I be? Offended?" He said.

I walked over to Chloe.

"You alright?" I asked her.

She nodded her head and smiled.

"Now Or never right?" I smiled.

I walked over to Steve.

"You're worried." He said.

"She's so young. What they did to her, it's inhuman. She never got a regular life." I said remembering my own childhood.

"She'll be fine. She's tough. Besides you, she's the toughest I know." Steve's hidden complement made my cheeks heat up a little bit, and I smile.

"Nat? Do you know where Clint is?" Tony asked.

"Um... he had to do something I think. Said it would only take a few minutes. He should be back soon though." I say.

As if on cue, Clint walked in.

"Welcome back." I whispered in Russian.

"Sorry, has to take care of something." He whispered back.

I smiled.

"I know. Everything good?" I asked him.

He was silent for a minute then nodded

"Natasha?" I hear Chloe call.

"Hmm?" I walk over.

"Um... I don't think I can do this." She says nervously reverting back to French.

"You'll be fine. I believe in you." I say encouragingly.

"Here." I took off the necklace I was wearing and put it around Chloe's neck.

"What is this?" She asked.

I don't really believe in luck, but if I did, I would tell you that this necklace is good luck. No matter where I go, I always take this with me, and somehow everything turns out okay." I say pointing towards my necklace.

"I had it on when we found you. I am thankful for it because at least now there's another girl here." I said switching to English.

Chloe smiled.

"You ready?" Bruce asked as he came over.

Chloe nodded and followed him and Tony into one of the test rooms that were in the tower.

"She'll be alright Nat. She's tough. A fighter. She can handle herself." Clint said. I watched as Tony and Bruce come out of the room and pushed a button on a tablet.

"You ready kid?" Tony asked.

"Yeah. I'm ready." Chloe said through the speaker.

"Alright. Here they come." Tony said with dramatic flare as he pushed a button on the tablet and a few of his iron fleet came flying in the room at Chloe.
