(Chloe's POV)

"Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth?"

"Yes, I do," I said.

"Prosecution, do you have any questions?" Judge McCain asked.

A woman stood and said yes. "Miss Hayes, is it true that Mr. Barton and Mr. Lang went to Germany against the Sokovia Accords?"

"Yes, it is. But the Sokovia Accords states that if you do not sign, then you retire. Clint had previously stated that he was retired, and Scott was not even known to be a superhero at the time." I told her. She was taken aback by my answer but continued.

"And is it true that they helped a known fugitive?"

"Yes." I looked at Clint and Scott.

"And they, knowingly, went along with Captian Rogers's plan?"

"Yes, but so did everyone else on our side."

"So you're admitting that you went along with the plan?"

"Yes, I am. But I also made Clint take me."

"I'm sorry?" The woman seemed surprised by my confession. "You made Me. Barton takes you to Germany?"

"Yes, I did. At the time that I went to Germany, I was staying his house and needed his help to get to Germany." I told the prosecutor.

"And how does Mr. Lang come into this?" She asked curiously.

"Scott was a friend of a friend. I asked him to help and he agreed."

"Willingly?"

"Well, he knocked himself out, and then I took him with us, so not really." I shrugged.

The prosecutor looked at me with a glare. "Miss Hayes, do you know where Captian Rogers, Mr. Wilson, and Agent Romanoff are at this moment?"

"No, I don't," I admitted.

"Don't lie, Miss Hayes. Where are the remaining Avengers?" She pushed.

"I don't know. I'm under oath, I can't lie. Although I would assume they're somewhere over the Atlantic at the moment. But other than that I'm afraid I don't have an exact location." I smirked.

I glanced at Clint and he seemed to realize what I was doing. "So you have no idea where they are?" The woman asked once more.

"Unfortunately not. Although I presume that my mother is watching, considering that this is being filmed. I also imagine she is not happy with me at the moment." I stated pointing at the camera crews in the room.

"Does the prosecution have any more questions or are you done?" Judge McCain asked.

"Prosecution has no more questions, your honor." The woman said and sat down deflated.

She tried her best, I'll give her that.

"Does the defense have any questions?" The judge asked.

A man sitting in between Clint and Scott stood. "The defense has no questions, your honor."

"Miss Hayes, do you have anything you wish to add?" I thought for a moment about what I wanted to say.

"I know that some people think that the Avengers are menaces or traitors, but we're not. I know that some people are going to come after me and my family, but what happened in Germany, happened because we were trying to protect someone. We were doing what heroes do. Save the innocent. And quite honestly, if anyone here or anywhere else has any problems with that, then you are terrible people. Clint and Scott only had a part because I asked, and they felt bad. They are innocent."

"Well then, thank you for that statement. I will take it all into consideration. We will convene in an hour." Judge McCain banged his gavel and the court was dismissed.

                             ————————

"You are a complete and total idiot. You do know that right?" Cooper told me pushing my shoulder.

"I missed you too." I smiled.

"You're an idiot. I hate you." He maintained his statement.

"No, you don't." I hugged him tightly. He was way taller than I was now.

Even though I saw him like a month ago.

"Are you okay?" He asked giving in to the hug.

I sighed but nodded. "I've been better. But I've also been worse. I'm tired and feel like I haven't slept in a month." I admitted honestly.

Probably because I haven't slept in a month.

"I'm glad you're okay." He said.

"Me too." I smiled.

"Alright, young lady," Clint came over and crossed his arms. "You have some major explaining to do."

"I know." I nodded.

"Firstly, what on earth were you thinking coming here?! Are you out of your mind?! You are a wanted criminal!" He yelled at me.

"This was something I had to do; no matter the risks. I wasn't going to let you and Scott rot in prison." I told him sternly.

He paused for a second time and before re continuing his parent rant. "Secondly, why would you ever tell them that you forced us? Especially me?"

"Because you are the closest thing I have to a Dad, besides Steve. Mom trusts you with everything including me. Now I need you to trust me." I said softly.

I needed him to trust that I could do this. I didn't need him second-guessing me. I needed him to believe in me.

I could do this.

"You're sure about this?" He asked finally giving in.

"I am. But I need to know that you trust me."

"I do. I've always trusted you, Chloe. I'm just worried." He admitted setting his hand on my shoulder.

"I know." I smiled at him.

I was beyond worried if I was being honest with myself.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the court will now reconvene." A voice said. I shot a smile at Clint before squeezing Cooper's hand quickly.

                           ————————

"After taking into consideration all that has been said, I have to a verdict." Judge McCain stated. Everyone waited with bated breath for his verdict. "Clinton Francis Barton and Scott Edward Harris Lang, have been found innocent of breaking the Sokovia Accords." I could hear the silent thanks coming from the Bartons and Scott's family. "Clinton Francis Barton and Scott Edward Harris Lang, have been found guilty of trespassing on German property, and therefore, in agreement with the German government, Mr. Barton and Mr. Lang will serve two full years on house arrest."

The shocked thoughts that came from the two families was almost overwhelming. I felt like my head was going to explode from the confusion in their thoughts.

I caught the judge's eye from where i stood in the back of the room and subtlety nodded in thanks. Clint turned around to look at me and I smiled. He turned around and cooer looked back at me. I mouthed bye before putting my hood on and phasing through the wall.

Now comes the rough part.
