Happy Monday, everyone!

I left Wattpad in March for various reasons and have since self-published LIZZIE BENNET'S DIARY. The first three chapters are still up as a Preview here.

If you read the novel while I was posting it on Wattpad, and you'd like to retain an eBook copy, here's a giveaway link where you can download it as an EPUB, MOBI, or PDF: https://author.tkmarnell.com/books/giveaway.php

The giveaway page will expire this Saturday, June 15. If you'd like a copy of the novel after that, message me and I will happily provide one. You all supported me while I was writing here, so I don't expect you to pay me, too.

(Besides, I didn't self-publish to make big bucks. My reasons were (a) Wattpad's business practices and (b) my family's and friends' requests for print/Kindle copies.)

It's over! LIZZIE BENNET'S DIARY is finally done!

I wrote the last chapters during an intense snow storm last week that shut down my workplace for four straight days, and I took a fifth off because my poor little car couldn't handle the roads. I braved them once after the storm to reach the grocery store, and it was like driving on a glacier.

My husband suggested I wait and release the chapters weekly as usual, but I was too excited to click that switch next to "Complete?"

So now, it is done. Almost. When I finish a novel I always print a physical copy for relatives and archives, so I still need to do that. Does anyone know if there's a way to download an entire story from Wattpad, other than tediously copy/pasting the contents of each chapter?

Happy lazy Sunday afternoon, everyone! I posted a short chapter this week, because the next two will be the big ones. You Austenites know what I'm talking about--the BIG ones. The ones in which our alluring yet infuriating hero is going to go and ruin everything.

I haven't devoted as much time to this story as I'd like, because I have other projects vying for my attention. Last week I wrote a short story for a Halloween contest in the local paper. Horror isn't my thing, so that was difficult for me. I also have my poor neglected sewing. Piled on the crafting table right now: 9 yards of fabric for kitchen curtains, 10 yards for a winter coat, 4 for a sweater dress, and 1 for a men's t-shirt. I must tackle them soon, because with $200 of untouched fabric in this room, I can't tease my husband about his collection of unplayed video games on Steam.

Now I'm off to frost some Halloween-themed cupcakes to bring to my day job. Then I'll get back to work on the intimidating task of writing a Mr. Darcy our heroine will want to kiss and throttle at the same time.

          Until next week,
          Tamara

Happy Friday, everyone! I posted a chapter this morning, which I prefer to think of as "two days early" rather than "five days late."

The reason it's "two days early" is that the first draft I wrote last weekend was unacceptable, and I had to delete the whole thing and start again. This second draft is tolerable, I suppose, but still not good enough to satisfy *me*. I clicked Publish to stop myself from spending the next month trying to get it right.

The Mr. Collins arc was tough to get through, but now that's over with and Mr. Darcy will finally take center stage in the next chapter! Yay!

Hello, everyone! I wanted to say thank you for reading Lizzie Bennet's Diary, commenting and voting. Though I'm twenty years past elementary school now, I'm just as excited to receive little stars today as I was back then.

A question, though: how do you know when I've posted new chapters? You read them so quickly! Do you get notifications? Have I missed a setting somewhere? When I read stories on Wattpad, I visit each one and check the table of contents for updates. There must be an easier way.

Also, is there a "continue reading" feature I've been missing? Because every time I put down a story for a bit, I have to start over from the beginning, and I can never remember which chapter I read last. It's quite frustrating.

@tkmarnell You're welcome. Anytime. I love your story and look forward to every update. Thanks for writing it.

@ElleLeeLove Thanks for the help! I'd been adding stories to a reading list, not to "my library." I've moved things around now and maybe I'll start getting those notifications.

@tkmarnell If we have your story in our library, we get notifications that you updated. Yes. There is a continued reading feature, but it doesn't always work. I vote for every chapter I read, that way I know if I read a story or not. If I stop liking a story, I stop reading it and it doesn't get any more of my votes.

Followed you because of three reasons:

          1.) Your extremely helpful response

2.) I, too, love Jane Austin. Though I have not read all of her books.

3.) If I need help with anything else, I think I'll try to ask you first. If that's all right with you :)

          Thanks so much, again!

Hi there, I just wanted to say how much I'm enjoying your story! I'm a huge Jane Austen fan and I love how your work does Pride and Prejudice justice, while adding a freshness to it with the modern setting. Keep up the great writing.
