Whenever I'm on here I procrastinate.
Since I've rebooted in wattpadding I've been struggling even more to find the balance between work and escapism.
What to do...

What better than to construct an 'about me' at 1am..

For the longest time I've wanted to be a writer, but now when it's nearly time to decide I now realise how this ambition was almost always a fantasy.

It's unpractical. Too idealistic. Most of all I'm not special in it in particular at all.

English and literature were never my fortés, yet what attracted me to this dream so much was the worlds I could escape to when I read.

It wasn't so much that I had a sucky childhood than it was that I preferred those worlds so much more, and I remember blocking out so many people just because I wanted to turn the pages.

Only when I knew the difference between 'simplified' and 'sophistication', 'compulsory' and 'leisure' did I understand that the reality was all of us like reading when it's voluntary, no matter if it's the cereal box or Shakespeare. It is only when that freedom is taken out do we start to forget this joy.

I wasn't really sure what I wanted to say when I wrote this.

But it ended up this way. I guess what I'm saying here then is thank you wattpad for the reminder that we can read whatever the hell we like.
