Hi, Friends! I have been offline all month, but I'm maneuvering back into the fray. I can't promise consistency at this time. As many of you may know, I am originally from Louisiana, USA. It happens to be one of the hardest hit by coronavirus. In the past three weeks, my mother has suffered through the virus. Now, my two small nieces appear to have it. It is a very stressful time for me, and I simply can't do my usual level of engagement while worrying about my family back home.

I am currently hunkered down in Alabama with my partner and our four kids. We were actually in the process of trying to move home to be closer to and help our family members, but that was slated for the end of April. Now, our plans are up in the air, and we don't know when we'll be able to go home. We are taking every possible precaution to keep ourselves safe and well. Within our immediate household, we have several at-risk individuals with a range of conditions from chronic bronchitis to sever asthma to genetic disorders. Within our extended family back home, there are a multitude of comorbidities as well. I am scared, saddened, and apologetic for not being able to provide my normal level of work, but I truly, truly hope you understand my need to take care of myself and family at this time.

Thank you to those who have reached out. I will try to continue connecting and posting. If I go silent, it's possibly to take care of my mental health. As well, I hope you all are safe. Love to each of you, and thank you for helping make LEAD ME ASTRAY a success even in my absence.

Friends, this has been an uber busy week! LEAD ME ASTRAY (Book 1 of the Overlay City Series) is now part of the Wattpad Paid Stories program, and I'm working as hard and fast as I can to properly edit INTO THE WILD DARK (Book 2 of the Overlay City Series) this month. So, you haven't seen me updating as much, but I promise to have new content as soon as possible.

Many of us are spending more time in-doors this month. If you're stressed, worried, or just need an escape from the daily news cycle, I welcome you to drop a message on my page or check out one of my stories. You can also find me on Twitter this month where I'll be most active while writing, editing, and revising Book 2 of the Overlay City Series. It would mean the world to me if those of you who have read LEAD ME ASTRAY use the hashtag #GetAwayWithIt to share what you think of it on Twitter. You can also tag me at lesser_known_1. I'll be looking out for you!

I haven't had the chance to personally thank each person who has added LEAD ME ASTRAY or other books by me to your reading list. Let me just say right now: You're the best! Thank you for your votes, comments, and even for just stopping by to see what I'm writing here. I appreciate you more than you know.

I can't wait to share the more polished version of the followup book to LEAD ME ASTRAY. Until then, you know what I always say: #GetAwayWithIt <3 <3 <3

@00097bts Firstly, thanks for your kindness. This message tickled me pink. In my experience, the secret to writing is lots of reading and--I bet you can guess--lots of writing. ^_^ I'm also a huge fan of learning the craft. Many writers won't tell you this, but we all continuously read articles and books on how to plot better or how to develop more nuanced characters. I'm glad you enjoyed LEAD ME ASTRAY, and you're welcome to check out my other works, as well. ;) You might like STRATEGIC BEHAVIOR. It's a Wattpad Editor's Choice pick.

Gemologist_Hisui

hi. i have a question.
character biographies are necessary, but should i have the story and character biographies separate and make a book for it?

lesserknown1

@Gemologist_Hisui Thanks for reaching out to me! In my opinion, character biographies or character profiles are a handy way for writers to "get to know" their characters and a fun way for readers to get a behind the scenes glimpse of our writing process. Whether you choose to include them in your Wattpad book or make a separate book specifically for extra content is up to you. ^_^ However, research has shown that many readers will skip the opening pages of a book if they're all character /cast lists, playlists and author notes. Some readers also prefer not to see face-grabs or the models you think best represent your characters. So, if you include them in your book, try sticking these pages at the back.

Personally, I love creating lots of extra content. You can see an example of my character lists, playlists, and informative articles in my #Famservice and #Famservice 2020 books. I hope this info helps! <3
