Fun Fact Friday
          
          Did you know in a study performed on 320 Adults that only 48% of the characters they dreamed about were actually known to them? Of that only 45% were actually known by their faces. Bizarre or uncharacteristic behavior was shown to be about 14% of the recognizable characters. That leaves a lot of room for the unknown. So where do these unknown characters come from? It is said our minds may be presenting a construct by a social role, such as a policeman for insistence. The character is not just one cop but a combination of many. This happens for about 35% of the characters we dream about. That still doesn't tell us where the other 17% of characters in our dreams come from. Perhaps the ideals behind LAST OF THE DREAM WARRIORS is not so far fetched. I know one thing for sure. I plan to keep better attention to what and who I am dreaming about from now on. 7 Kingdom Council
          A group of seven men and women who dispatch judgement on those who have broken the universal rules throughout the Realm. The universal rules include many found in today's society in the Real such as murder. When Nadine vanquishes the Dark Lord at the end of TWO WORLDS, she does so without permission and without justification, or so the Council says. They set out to punish Nadine in the best way possible without sending her into the Void. If you have read RISE OF THE DARK LORD you will know that doesn't endear the Council to Nadine in any way. The Council will play a pivotal role in a number of events leading up to the great prophecy everyone believes is about Nadine. Will the Council push Nadine too far before that though?           Premonitions, a strong feeling that something is about to happen, typically something unpleasant. Prophecies are written versions of premonitions. Down through the centuries our society and in every religion has been riddled with premonitions. Don't believe me? Catholics call it Revelations in the bible. Islam provides 15 different prophecies from Muhammad about things to come. Tui Bei Tu is a Chinese book of prophecies written by Li Chunfeng and Yuan Tiangang. Ever hear of Nostradamus? The list goes on and on yet the idea of premonitions are thought to be a falsehood in the same societies who believe in these religions. Some religions have strictly forbade their followers to divine premonitions because they think of it as a sacrilege. Still, millions of people have premonitions every day, some not even realizing that they have even had one. That many? Yes. We all have. Ever get a foreboding feeling something was about to happen and then it did? There you go, premonition. It may not have been epic or life affirming like we see in the movies but you had yourself a premonition. 
          
          Prophecies and premonitions have underlining consequences in the Last of the Dream Warriors. Nadine is believed to be a child of prophecy because events unfold around her that had been written down centuries ago by the woman in white, Wysteria. The question becomes though are the things happening because they were meant to be or because Wysteria wrote them down. Where is the line between predetermination and free will? Perhaps it lies in our dreams. Dream on, Dreamers!! #lodw

Feeling a bit drained this week but nothing great ever happened by giving up. So I find this quote a bit inspiring this morning. For those out there following, no words could be truer today. Follow your dreams, work at them. Don't sell yourself short no matter who tells you it is not good enough. Dream on, Dreamers!! #lodw

Trying something a bit different. As some of you may know, this is a planned twelve part series I am doing for Last of the Dream Warriors. It begins as the saga of Nadine Ruth, a princess who doesn't remember who she is or where she is truly from. We travel through two different worlds with her, learning about her struggles and triumphs. We learn of love and loss. This series is not just about Nadine though. This story is about a family who has been at the center of every major happening in the Realm since recorded history. It is a family riddled a responsibility to each other and the greater good. With an ingrain sense of independence and conceived from a forbidden love affair, Nadine becomes a tipping point for Realm's first family. Nadine battles internally with trying to be her own person in a time where everyone is telling her to be something different. When everything is on the line all the time, it makes for a tiresome situation. Nadine never thought she could understand the deep desire her mother and father had when they took their own lives. She is beginning too though. SPOILER ALERT: The Last of the Dream Warrior series doesn't end with a happy ending for Nadine. In fact, it doesn't end with her at all. The consequences of her actions though will set off a chain of events that will change the Realm and the Real for years to come. 
          
          
          Okay. I know I went a bit cryptic there on you, but for those who are in this for the long run, I don't think you will be disappointed. There is a natural conclusion to certain things and in the end this series will have one too. To fans of the work, hang in there. All is not lost. Carl Jung has a way with words, and dreams. He did study them after all. We will talk more about Jung another time though. Today, lets look at his words. Personally, I think what the man is trying to say is if you really want to do something in life and do it well the idea has to not just be in your head but in your heart. The universe will not just hand you everything you ant in life. You have to first envision it and then go out and do it. Dream on, Dreamers!! Make those dreams a reality. #lodw

Topic Tuesday
          
          Lets do a character spotlight. I want to talk about Iona. This character begins each of the books with vital information about what is happening or has happened in the Realm to help us along with the story. She is a very distant relative to Nadine and the ruling members of Detoriola. You may be wondering how. Iona's origins start a thousand years before Nadine was even born, before there was seven kingdoms. She volunteered to be protector of the family and was changed by the SLAGs into a hybrid, much like Vex. She watches over her family and waits for the time when a very special treasure will be restored to the Realm. Until then, Iona will watch and wait, remaining our mysterious guide in all things happening in the Realm.

Sneak Preview Sunday
          Things start to heat up with Nadine and the new bad boy in her life. 
          
          Jealousy:
          It was more than a simple kiss though. It was a betrayal. I betrayed Carter, who was a million miles and a world away. It was that realization that broke the spell we were under. Placing both hands against his chest I pushed trying to distance myself from AJ. He was like a rock though, unmovable, as he held me against him. My body began to panic remembering other times I was in such a position of unwanted affections. I remembered Bart trying to kiss me and Lou’s unwanted touches. All those horrible unwanted memories flooded me, and I panicked. I pushed against AJ again, this time power came rushing from me. AJ was rocketed away from me landing several feet away.
          
          He quickly regained himself sitting up with a chuckle. “Feisty, aren’t you?”
          
          My hands covered my mouth in shock before saying, “Oh god.”
          
          I turned on my heels and left the Dreamscape despite him calling for me to come back. I had let AJ kiss me and did nothing to stop him. I let him because I wanted him to do it more than I cared to admit. It was brief and didn’t last long but that was because the guilt had been overwhelming. AJ had been too overwhelming. He was all jokes and passion. He was dangerous and I could not let myself be around him again. He had made me forget who I was for a brief moment. I couldn’t let that happen again. There was so much going on that I could not forget who I was and what I needed to do. Most of all, I couldn’t betray Carter again. He was a world away, but still my boyfriend. Carter was the love of my life. I loved him with everything in me. Somehow though, AJ negated how I felt for Carter. I loved Carter. What confused me though was if Carter was the love of my life, why did I feel such attraction to AJ? Why didn’t I stop AJ’s kiss sooner? What was wrong with me?
