I am a novelist who has spent the last 30 years as a technologist, investor, and entrepreneur in Silicon Valley. Before that, I studied physics at MIT (BSc) and Berkeley (PhD).
I am releasing my first novel, Moby Dx: The Silicon Valley Novel, http://www.mobydx.com, as a digital serial, and I'm very happy to be a member of the Wattpad community. The first of 6 volumes is going up here beginning sometime in February. To get the whole thing, use my site http://www.gum.co/mobydx.
The book is the story of the life, times, trials and tribulations, loves, families, business partners, students, and college roommates of one-time MIT Professor and Moby Dx co-founder, Max Frood-as told by Princeton graduate Lakshmi Stein. Drink the Kool-Aid, or Don't Drink the Kool-Aid? That is the question of this novel. A vivid look at where we live, its characters discuss the workings of the venture business, trends in big data, biotechnology, and the history of modern biology. Approximately half its events take place in Silicon Valley, and the remainder coast-to-coast in the US, as well as pre-revolutionary Iran, Paris and Normandy, Pindi, Bangalore, East Jerusalem, Lomboc, Macau, and Rhizobia.
I'm often asked, why, or how it came to pass that I wrote this beast after all those years doing something else. I think the answer must be that I started out as a letter writer. I give a more complete answer here, http://mobydx.com/about-the-author/
If you like what you read, and want to discuss it outside Wattpad, please Like and post on the www.facebook.com/mobydx, or tweet @mlvlvr, or go to reddit and join a discussion about all Silicon Valley Novels. Also, I maintain a board at pinterest, http://www.pinterest.com/mlvlvr/all-things-melvillean/, of melvilliana of all kinds.
