Hello Cassie! ^^

I just wanted to know who the judges are so I could follow them :)

@meyersmuffins1289 the day just started for me, but it’s been good so far :). I just started this contest yesterday, so judges haven’t really been assigned yet. Don’t worry, they’ll be tagged when I have them. You don’t have to worry about following them until then.

What did you mean by "payment" on your contest book?

NyssaDunlap

@ccallis0246 okay. That makes a lot more sense.

@NyssaDunlap sorry I didn’t answer sooner! The “payment” is just what you’re required to do before entering, not actual money or anything. I need you to follow me, your judge (upon acceptance), and add my contest book to your library as the payment.

I’m back for my update! Sorry I’ve been posting so many messages lately; I promise there won’t be another one for a week or so.

This update is mainly about Sunflower Reviews. I have a soft spot for reviewing, but I’m closing it down indefinitely due to my upcoming school year. I don’t know if I’ll have any time to do reviews, which is why I’ve done five reviews in the past week. There’s one book left in my queue, and I’ll keep Sunflower Reviews up, but I may not do any more reviews for a while. I try to judge one awards a month—something I still plan on doing—so I’m not giving up all reviews. I just don’t know if I’ll have time to do extremely extensive ones anymore.

I’ll spend the rest of the summer editing Lovely Little Lies. I’m also working on a new book, and I’ll publish it once I’ve written five chapters. At the moment I’m still in the research stage.

That’s all for now! Thank you all for the love and support that I’ve gotten recently. <3

It’s so disheartening to get a horrible score in awards without a reason whatsoever. I understand my book isn’t for everyone, I really do. I’ve been staring at this screen for 18 minutes (but who’s counting?) waiting for a response from the judge/admin because I’m always looking for ways to improve. What do I get? Radio silence. It’s days like these that I forget why I enter awards (and write) in the first place. I’ve never gotten a score this low before.

@ccallis0246 exactly, your story isn't for everyone, and some might just not understand the main plot etc. That doesn't mean the story is bad. That being said, I had my judges fill in mandatory judging criteria lists so that I could offer feedback to any contestant as to why they got a certain score. They could at least explain your score :)

Btw, its a good call you didn't name the awards!

@-RomanticHeart- Thanks hun! I talked to them further, and I think that they didn’t really understand my plot. I explained it further to them to clarify a few things. I got all points off for spelling/grammar, which I think is ridiculous for my occasional spelling mistakes, so clearly they don’t know what’s correct.

@JuneDSilver I know a bit too much about that unfortunately. I ran my own awards last year, though I genuinely believe that my judges didn’t judged based on their likes and dislikes, at least it’s not what they said in the review. Looking at my score, it was honestly not bad. I got half off in two genres because I don’t think he understood what correct grammar is or what my plot is about. My story isn’t for everyone, and sometimes I forget that. Thanks for the kind words :).

@alexinchains1234 sorry, I’d rather not say. It’s bad enough I’m trashing them on my message board; I’d rather not have my followers know which awards specifically.

Hey everyone! The Sunrise Awards are doing a People’s Choice aspect to it, and I’d really love it if you could vote for Lovely Little Lies under the romance/chicklit/teen fiction/urban genre. You have five votes, and you put a “+” in an in-line comment next to the book you want to vote for. All votes are appreciated :)
