A proud daughter, wife, mother of 2, and grandmother to 4. Spent the first 20 years of my adult life working in law enforcement and Emergency medical services - a true adrenaline junkie. Because of poor health I switched to 'bankers hours' and worked as a paralegal. In 2003, also partly because of health reasons, I became a full time caregiver for my elderly parents. Now, my grandchildren are my heart, my joy, and my light.
Throughout everything......I read. Almost anything I can get my hands on. Reading has been my salvation. Now...I mainly read via an e-reader, but I still maintain that there is nothing on this earth comparable with the smell of a book, the weight of it in your hands, the feel of the page as you turn it, and the anticipation one feels when they sit down and flip to that first page of the story.. And there is no feeling to compare as you read the last words to a story - the sense of completeness and a story well told! I'm a firm believer that if you teach a child to read - you open the world for them. Reading is the basis for pretty much everything in life and if they read well - they can do anything well - and theres always the added benefit of a vacation without leaving your chair! That's me in a nutshell :)
