"Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will"
This is the quotation that motivated me greatly to take up the challenge of NaNoWriMo.
I have always loved writing, getting myself lost in whatever story my brain conjured up and, it all honestly started with fanfiction stories, but it was all works I never shared save for one or two close friends. Writing these stories had me thinking "Can you write something else?" and so I put it to the test and began to conjure up my own little tales of strange and unusual things. And so I found that I truly had a passion for writing.
I read a lot and discovered authors such as Stephen King and Anne Rice, later stumbling onto the works of HP Lovecraft whom I fell in love with (as my username here will clearly show). His works were truly amazing.
Horror, Dark Fantasy, Weird Fiction, Supernatural and Paranormal are the genres I'm drawn to.
My creative abilities led me into the world of Twitter RP, a world unknown to me until my sister-in-law introduced me to it and wow! What a world that is. There are so many talented writers out there but, like me, they doubt their abilities as a writer. It is truly amazing to see people conjure and create amazing stories, not only for characters from their favorite shows but stories for entirely original characters.
A friend once told me: "You are your own worst critic" and those words are so very true.
But things changed last year when I got my first story published on Amazon entitled "Finding Cold Haven: The Search Begins."
The first step had been taken and I needed to take more and so I have. I have submitted a piece for a First Line project and have another two stories lined up for December.
The only way to become a better writer is to constantly write and practice and learn from past mistakes.
I am just a strange, inked and an unusual little lady who is doing what she loves the most and that is writing, hoping to make her mark in the world of literature as a great author one day.
