@Phoebe_j  people become popular because as a community we require someone to look up to, someone to follow. Without popular people everyone would be going their own way, rather than just mindlessly following the people they believe to be popular. Just my opinion.

I agree completely. I also believe that popularity exists only because we believe in it. The popular people are only perceived as popular because we think so. It's a way of thinking, I believe, not a ruling or a status. :) Just thinking...

I totally agree! :) That's a really good comparison, by the way. Jesus helped and he saved and yet he was killed.

@PhoebeKeir Probably the general consensus of people around them. If someone of a higher status gives an opinion about someone, the others usually follow. It is a sad situation but if people were to stand up to what is right then perhaps we could be considered equal. When Jesus walked the Earth, did he try to act like he was somebody important? No. Instead, he was as a humble servant, helping others and treating everyone with respect. Popularity was created long ago for vain people who needed an ego boost.
