Welp, guess whose laptop got the “Blue Screen of Death (BSoD)”?
That’s right! You guessed it! It’s mine.
It was working as usual just last night and it went kaput this afternoon.
I’ve entrusted it with an amazing tech guy who does masterful work. However, I have since changed my password for the gmail account that I used to make the Windows account on the laptop. Yep, I screwed myself over royally because now the tech guy can’t do his usual system restore. >_>
My dear readers and followers, please don’t make my mistake and instead remember to save your passwords when you make Windows, Dell, etc. accounts for your devices. I stupidly did not and look where that got me.
Ugh. (´༎ຶོρ༎ຶོ`) This sucks…
On the bright side, I can still save the edited versions of the chapters to Google Drive/Documents through my phone. It just won’t save any of the italics, which is fine because I’ve used this in a pinch while traveling.
No loss there! :3

@Deckard00 Amazingly, the tech guy was awesome! He got it up and running to about the same level it was before through rebuilding my OS and he recovered the majority of my programs. It’s great now, thank goodness.

@korosen-sama Actually, the tech guy I trust is awesome. He totally rebuilt my OS after being unable to do a system restore through the backend because it blue-screened a couple times while going through the settings (so he decided enough was enough). He copied the original OS, was able to recover 95% of my stuff (the most important things) onto a different SSD, he had to disable one drive to get it to work, then was able to transfer the newly rebuilt OS onto the original SSD that he wiped clean to factory settings. He created a proper system restore point for me, too. It took me about a half hour to download the missing programs, re-enter passwords, and so on, but the laptop is running perfectly now. I don’t know how he survives because he charges a flat rate of $75. If I had taken my laptop to anyone else, I would have either lost my data (although I did copy most of it onto a USB) and spent way too much money or my laptop would have been trashed. And, interestingly enough, the tech guy praised my laptop for being “really good,” even though it was fairly cheap. So I guess it was a good choice when I got it five and a half years ago. Yes, definitely can’t trust tech too much! I’m sorry you’ve been having so much trouble. I wonder why the laptops keep failing…

@Origin_of_Kelpie I have been through such a sh¡тshow with 2 laptops already, and I got into the habit of backing everything up once a week if I am working on some serious stuff. My gmail has turned into archive too, and my Drive is bursting too... ☠️ Yet, losing all of one's files is hell. I am so sorry. You can't trust technology too much, one has to be smart about it. ❤️ Good luck! I hope you can recover your password too! If you know a good hacker - there are ways! ;]]

Question (^^)/ I was re-reading the Plans and remembered another book I didn’t see. I don’t remember the name but it was a romance about siblings and the sister was intersex dom and her brother gets sick because of her. I was wondering if you had plans for that book or I just blindly skipped over it if you did speak about it.

@AloisTrancy7258 I believe you’re talking about Thana’s Possession. It’s true I did forget about that book when writing the Plans note/book, but I have since remembered that I need to put it on there. I did tell someone about it within the last year when they asked, but obviously didn’t make a note on it. Anyway, I don’t know how to feel about that book. It really needs to be rewritten because of the grammar and plot (to a degree), but it would have to go on Inkitt regardless of whether I rewrite it or not. Honestly, there are a lot of works I just don’t want to go back to… I know some people really enjoyed TP as it was despite its problems, but we’ll see. Sorry that I’m not more positive. I’m trying to be realistic/honest with you and others about how I feel about my old(er) works.

Progress Update for new version of Anwyll’s story:
Hey guys, it’s been a long time since I mentioned anything about the new version of Anwyll’s story (DeLuca’s Home for Mentally Disturbed Boys). Still not sure of what I’m going to do for a new title, but I am working on it.
I am also currently working on chapter 60. I know, it’s a big jump since my last update about it!
Honestly, it almost feels like a different story (in a really good way). It feels more natural and less “This happened because Anwyll is capable of everything without being taught anything.”
It’s just as emotional (maybe a little more so due to nothing feeling forced) in my opinion. I feel like I’m able to naturally develop situations from the original through deeper storytelling or revelations from earlier mentions or hidden knowledge rather than adding more trauma like I used to do.
Also, Anwyll is not really an overly kind character anymore. He’s still himself, but he’s capable of a lot more in his current mental state than he ever was in the old version. Due to his past, having a lack in certain areas makes him more natural in that sense.
Again, I have NOT used any of the original writing so far. I still have this thought I might do that, but then again… I might not need to. I do refer back to my character sheet for height details and such, but I remember basically everything of my story without having to reread it (like with all of my works), which is helpful for making large plot changes and moving certain events or plot points around.
Overall, I’m really enjoying myself! I do hit brief periods of writer’s block now and then with writing new content and tying that into the old version’s plot points, but I push through and everything naturally falls into place in my mind over time.

@Lokisoul21 Hehe, I’m glad you’re excited about the new version of Anwyll’s tale. :3 And who knows, maybe I’ll end up rewriting Nightmare Wolves in the future. I have made zero progress with Jaxon’s story, so…that’s not happening anytime soon. Lol
