Hello there. My name is Alex Clark-McGlenn. I am an author, gamer, cat-dad, dog-dad, and for some reason, all those things came before "husband"--maybe the most important identity marker I have.
My wife and I live in Washington State, on a little island you've probably never heard of. We're both high school teachers. My wife teaches Ethnic Studies and I'm an English teacher.
Recently, I've been revisiting stories I've written that I love that I've never published. When I get onto Submittable or literary magazine websites I constantly find myself puzzling over whether I should submit to them. After all--what I want is for my work to be read. It seems posting my work here when I believe it is done and refined is far more valuable and likely to reach readers than behind a paywall of a literary magazine. So. . . here I am.

When I'm not writing and teaching, I play tabletop roleplaying games like D&D, The One Ring (Lord of The Rings ttrpg), as well as others. I also have discovered a love of skirmish games like Warcry and most recently Rivenstone, which finished its Kickstarter in May 2022.

On my Wattpad, you can expect short fiction, mostly. I'm working on a novel, but it's not ready to be posted yet, so that's going to remain under wraps for now. I'm not doing this for money or for adoration. I've mostly realized that I need to have my work in front of people. The other night my wife and I were at a meeting and a friend of hers asked me "What are you writing?" and I could tell him about the work I had published--but he couldn't read it because it was behind a paywall. I've picked Wattpad to be a place to allow my fiction to be read--editors be damned.

So, anyway. Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy your time here. You can shoot me a line on Discord at Nors#0207. You can also support my work at https://ko-fi.com/alexclarkmcg.
Cheers.
