she turned around and I got lost in looking at her long red hair and beautiful freckles and bright green eyes. 


"What" she said as she caught me staring. 






I blink out of my daze and reply "nothing" 












As I feel heat in my cheeks and I'm grateful for dark skin in that moment. 









"I'm grateful that your my friend, I hope you know that" she states.









"Yeah, me too..." I say but with a sadness in my heart knowing
