I first started writing as soon as I was old enough to hold a pencil and fold pieces of paper together. My first book, full of pictures of unicorns (I was too young to know how to write), started me on the writing path I'm still on today: exploring different realities through science fiction and fantasy.

Since then, I've become better at "drawing pictures" with words than pencils. In addition to writing my own stuff, I'm also a teen services librarian and freelance editor and writer, writing primarily for children and teens. I most like to edit, workshop, coach, and proofread what I most like to read: novels and memoir. But I skillfully edit a wide range of materials to keep food on the table (and in my pets' dishes).

ACTA Publications has just released Hungering and Thirsting for Justice: True Stories by Young Adult Catholics, which I co-edited with Kate Ward. I'm also working on pitching my young adult novel, Ever This Day, and rewriting the retelling of Rapunzel I pounded out for NaNoWriMo 2012.
