I am a freestyle Filipina poet. I have a supportive husband and an adorable cat. I enjoy strolling down the beach, staying on rooftops, watching the rain and listening to a genre of songs while drinking early morning or late night lattes and of course, scribbling my poems in between. At times, I also find myself drawing here and there, taking random photos, reading books and some occasional thrift shopping. Yes, writing and art are my panacea.

I write in several poetic forms such as haiku, senryu, tanka, pantoum, cinquain, riddle, ode, roundeau, diamante, shape and rhyme poetry but mostly stick to free verse with a dash of romantic, nostalgic or quite tragic undertones with a sprinkle of subtle cliffhangers. I take inspiration from the heart, a bit of experience, a few famous poets (Christina Rossetti, Edgar Allan Poe, Sara Teasdale, Gerard Manley Hopkins, Amy Lowell ) and my fellow amateur poets as well, but more or less from my deep well of imagination.

I like writing poetry because it is my panacea. In them, I store pieces of my life: my fears, frustrations, heartbreak, and dreams. For the memories, mine, borrowed or not, to be immortalized on paper. To breathe life to my world, to bring it out to those who dare to live with me, to live forever. So, others may read some unspoken words, hear the silence, drown out the fear, and savor my smiles & tears; to exchange lives for a few moments.
