''I can't breathe'' The final words of George Floyd. 

An incomprehensible example of what the justice system who is supposedly meant to protect us does to people of colour. What was supposedly meant to be a peaceful arrest, resulted in the death at the hands of those who are supposed to protect us. 

This incident has left a woman without her husband, neighbours, without a friend, parents without a son, siblings, without a brother and children without a brother. This is disgraceful that this has been allowed to take place.

We need to be better. We need to stand up for those who face any form of discrimination daily

But this is not the only race-related death in the world in the past month. In Canada, Regis Korchiwski-Paquet is suspected of being murdered by police who are being accused of this crime after she suspiciously fell to her death off of her own balcony. They had initially ruled this as a suicide. However, police are currently under investigation as they witnesses at the time of her death. 

We need to have legal systems that we can trust. We need legal systems that we can trust that won't cause our deaths due to a split-second decision. We need legal systems that are unbiased towards age, class, gender and race.
