Like to read and review science fiction and fantasy books, YA considered. I most enjoy reading novels with a strong voice and flavor as opposed to plot-driven stories.  I like many different writers, from Toni Morrison to Mark Twain, Cormac McCarthy, Amy Tan.  Most of my reading is in the form of research, so that means non-fiction, particularly history.  I can't spend the time needed to really be an expert on some historical field, but do my research using nature, finding bits of information I can use in a story.  I'm most fond of classical music, but I do enjoy true Bluegrass, Spanish guitar, and some country. My hobbies are photography and pottery, quilting and long walks in the woods.
