Ves Ryle lives in the far north in a stone cottage overlooking a fjord where she writes by moonlight and scans the horizon for hungry puffins by day. Always on the look-out for invading or sinking ships, small mammals in need of help, and unusual moss formations, she earns her living with freelance writing/editorial work.

Loves to read: Philip Pullman, Susan Cooper, China Mieville, Yiyun Li, Graham Joyce, Neil Gaiman and more...

Currently listening to some very cool cello music, which also happens to be excellent writing music by Erik Friedlander. Also listening to Laura Marling, Allo Darlin, Sarah Jarosz, Johnny Flynn, Avi Avital, Mumford and Sons, Fantastic Negrito, Ali Farka Toure.

A wandering gypsy soul, lover of art and painting. A swimmer in summer, and singer in winter. A consummate baker of buttermilk currant scones who lives with her two children, a very patient husband, elderly dancing grandparents and a little, fluffy white dog who rules the house with an iron paw.

Writes in a variety of genres, but is most partial to YA. She hopes to discover a common dialogue involving wit and humanity with all of her readers.

Highest Adventure Ranking in Summer of '16 so far: #53! Yippee!

Ves says, "Thanks for reading- comments, queries, and votes are seriously appreciated. I will be trying to add new chapters weekly, though more likely every two weeks.
