This is me, Emerald the patient and, also, this is me, Emerald the person. I am here to break down the walls between those two identities because, really, they are the same person.

Why two personas? In a word: STIGMA! My mental health difficulties have caused me to experience stigma in everyday life through all sorts of ways. I am judged, looked down on and told I can't do things simply because I have a diagnosed mental health condition.

Borderline Personality Disorder, BPD, is growing increasingly common and the people behind the case numbers are being more blatantly neglected, ostracised and stigmatised. This ends now!

Through writing about my experiences in a novel as Emerald the patient and sharing my feelings through the medium of poetry as Emerald the person, I hope I can convince at least some of you readers to join the cause. My aim here is to motivate, inspire, and #EndTheStigma which is an achievable task.

If you share one poem, or one chapter of my book, then together we can get the message to the world! I believe in a world where everyone can be themselves regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, beliefs, disabilities or any differences at all. Really, we all deserve equality and to be treated with kindness. So do a good deed today and join the cause.

You can find me on Twitter and Instagram via @EmeraldGrace95 where the campaign grows even further. For more information or help or just a general chat, do not hesitate to inbox me, write on my wall, or add me on social media and speak there. Go on; do something incredible. Let's end mental health stigma once and for all!

Much love, Emerald Xx
