After graduating from Penn State University with a degree in Film, Derrick moved to L.A. and worked in reality television for about six years.  Life threw him some curves, but allowed him to shift his focus from television and film writing to novel writing around 2013.  Using his odd and interesting life experiences from Los Angeles, New York and inbetween, he focuses on writing compelling fiction that never quite separates itself from reality.  While hoping to entertain a young crowd with his first novel, "A Prophet, a Witch, and the End of the World", he hopes to reflect intelligently on the world the next generation will inherit while secretly wishing he was a wizard.

Currently he is working on more adult material dealing with poverty, crime, and running from the law.  However, he prides himself on writing in many different genres.  From horror, to comedy, to drama, to paranormal, Derrick hopes getting some material out there on wattpad will open the door for more people to read all sorts of his varying work in the near future.

And, as always, he wouldn't mind finding a publisher!
