Sci-fi and spec fiction author since 1992.
Recently published on Amazon is my 4th sci-fi novel, "Imperfect Isolation", which embraces robotics, asteroid mining and a snowy drive in an 80-year-old Porsche 911....
The sequel, "Reprisals", is written and due out in 2019.
I'm in the midst of editing "Tow Away Zone", a quirky romantic comedy with a hint of fairytale, set in modern day Arizona. It was originally (in 2004) the treatment for a Coen Brothers- type offbeat film, but I picked it up this year to novelise it instead.
I'll be publishing this on Kindle/Amazon paperback in 2019.
I've written a collection of crazy humour stories/vignettes in the style of early Woody Allen prose - a real inspiration for me. "The Real Jamie Oliver and other stories" is basically a window into my nonsensical side.
Much of what and how I write is inspired by a long-lived attachment to the cinema, and I think very visually. Too many influences to list (but, Woody Allen, Coen brothers, Star Trek, classics like Casablanca). Even though I'm British, much of what I write is set in the USA, borne of indulging in great drama like NYPD Blue, Tin Star...
In the 2000s I penned a number of speculative screenplays, though this has ended up being just a stop on the writing journey...although it did cause me to change my career from IT to video production.
I'm also a playwright. Five professional adult pantomimes have sold out their runs in Guildford in the past 6 years, to a total audience of over 4000.
I've also had a couple of one-act plays performed.
