At the time of joining Wattpad, I'd been writing for sixty years, trying my hand in many fields before finding some modest success in steampunk. Now I'm ready to take on horror in what is most likely to be my final act. I cut my reading teeth on the "boys own" adventures written in the 1920s and 30s, and was sad to see that old style of literature fade out in the 60s and 70s in favor of a new, grim and gritty style of writing. It was like the old friend who moves out of the neighborhood, never to be seen again, and I eventually decided that if no one else was going to write it for me, I would write it myself. My surprise was complete when I found that my readers, few though they have been, embraced it like they'd never seen it before!

I write a style of story in which the hero isn't broken, the villain doesn't have to have a "point," and the heroine doesn't land in a random man's bed every time she trips. I don't believe that every problem can be solved with the biggest gun or the loudest explosion, but the nimblest brain is likely to figure prominently. I humbly invite you to take a ride with me to a style so old that it may be new to you, and I sincerely hope you have the time of your life!
