We live in a world where dreams are discarded and replaced with an unwelcome reality. For some, the dreaming ends early, almost before it begins. For others, it ends as soon as the boundaries of childhood are crossed, when we enter into the world of growing up and leaving behind. For some young people, reality is the world that's visited during the day and left behind at night for dreams and fantasies. And for a small group of people, reality does not exist. For them, the world consists only of stories and magic, beauty and adventure. They exist in their own worlds, apart from those who suffer and grieve. And to others, they are the messengers from that starry place, bringing stories of excitement and love to live alongside the gray world that is reality. We are those who bring songs and stories to life.

We are writers.

My name is Lane. I am, perhaps, like you. I enjoy any kind of story, so long as it takes me on an adventure, and I love to write my own stories. I am at peace with reality, as we have agreed to disagree. I am the kind of girl who walks down the hall with her nose in a book, who daydreams in math class and excels in English. I am that teenager whose dream is to be a professional princess in Disneyland, who writes stories in her spare time, who still whispers "Good night, Neverland" to the stars before bed, and who leaves the window open a smidge, just in case Peter Pan stops by. The one who still believes in wishing stars, true love, and mermaids. Whose favorite movie is anything Disney, whose favorite song is anything pretty, and whose favorite color is rainbow. Some children, you see, never grow up. I'm here to experience a new kind of adventure, to read your stories and see where they take me, to travel to places I'm not prepared for, and to take a magical journey through your world of wonder. Surprise me.
