Delilah Recovered #WATTYS2017 WINNER
I'm a PR maven by day...writer by night. I love witches, walking my fluffy little punky dog who thinks he's a lion, anything by Austen, Bronte, or Dickens. I watch the movies Rebecca and His Girl Friday at least once a year. I use dark chocolate to summon The Muse.
I'm inspired by
Strong women drive all my stories whether it's a documentary Bertha Palmer, a woman who worked to rebuild Chicago after The Great Chicago Fire or a rom-com based on Cinderella with a twist ( the woman is prince charming).
Delilah began as a treatment for a TV series, the world grew and grew until it became a three-part series. I had such a blast creating this world of witches with superpowers.
Along with my novels, I make films.
Currently, I am working on my third film project, Oriole Park, a coming of age story based on my experiences growing up on the northwest side of Chicago during the time when serial killer John Wayne Gacy was arrested and convicted for the murder of 33 boys.
Oriole Park was the winner of the 2015 Chicago International Film Festival's inaugural pitch competition and was recently selected as a finalist for the 2017 International Sundance Screenwriter Lab.
