Want to know more about me? I'm addicted to snacks and stories. I also suffer from inherent laziness, chronic lateness and find things that were made bad deliberately unusually amusing, such as terrible recorder covers of famous songs. For more of a visual bio, pop on over to @ajscurrah at instagram.
I love seeking out stories in various forms: books, film, music, anime, artwork and conversation, to name a few. Song writing is a significant part of my life, and when I see people defacing books to decorate their shop fronts and rooms, it hurts me. Seriously, guys, don't do it. You wouldn't tear a person's limbs from their spine and hang them from the ceiling, now would you?
Unless you would. I guess a few of you might.
I write for many reasons, and a few of those reasons are selfish ones. Primarily, I take great satisfaction from exploring the contradictory nature of the human race. I want readers to experience humanity at its keenest, in triumph or tragedy, and to come away from a book with something that they value. A pretty neat old man, by the name of George R. R. Martin, once wrote: "A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies... the man who never reads lives only one."
I don't know about you, but I plan on living at least a thousand and one lives before I die, just to challenge the assertion in the quote above. You're more than welcome to join me!
