She loves her boyfriend and wants to do whatever to prove that to both him and his family,.but their religions clash. While she's a Christian, and not so religious, Shawn is an ancestral believer. He strongly believes in doing things accordingly, which means consulting the ancestors first, before making decisions. Bey tries to see beyond these differences to prove her commitment and not only does she respects but also supports Shawn's decisions, but even in so doing, the family still believes that she's not good enough for their son.
