I know what you're thinking. Oh, Look, another typical, cliché story about vampires and werewolves and a girl that falls in love with one of them. I get it; believe me.
While those creatures may have a part in my journey, they are not the main focus. Oh no, I wish that they were. I, Grace Manning, was so fortunate as to meet a different kind of supernatural creature (Note the sarcasm). These kind pretend to be the good guys, when in reality, they only act in their own self-interest, no matter the consequence. At least, one of them does.
How, you may ask, did an awkward, introverted, mortal college student find herself tangled in a supernatural world that she had only read about in books beforehand? I ask myself the same thing every day. The point is, I'm in it and there's no way out now.
So, I'm writing this as a warning to all of you. If you are ever attacked in an alley by a creature that wants to suck your blood dry and a strange man rescues you by killing the monster without even batting an eyelash...RUN THE OTHER WAY. Do not let your curiosity get the best of you as I did. Convince yourself that you imagined it and move on. Let yourself only believe in the existence of the supernatural in fictional stories and T.V. Otherwise, you might end up like me- somewhat insane.
I'm not one for spoilers, so I'll save the rest for later. For now, all you need to know is that you know nothing. Everything you thought you knew about the world is wrong; from what you learned in history class to the person sitting next to you. It's all a lie that they created.
If you know what's good for you, you'll allow yourself the gift of ignorance. However, if you're like me, you will be bursting at the seams with curiosity by now. If you choose to read on, know that everything I'm telling you is part of a true story. Keep an open mind and trust no one. You never know who's lurking in the shadows.
Best of luck to you,
