"You never seemed to notice what I couldn't forget."
When Charlotte Black, an unnoticed eighteen-year old girl, is found dead in the attic of an arcade; the town of Rose Hill, a quaint, quiet town, is turned upside down. Chase Bradley, Charlotte's crush and hope, had been left with one single clue, written in black, feather ink.
"She was unloved for a reason."
As Chase is left with the mysterious note, his curiosity feeds on the information he could manage to scrape up about Charlotte, which opens his eyes to a secret life she managed to hide. Charlotte had not been that quiet, innocent girl with the piercing, blue eyes he had first thought she was.
Chase makes it his responsibilty to honour Charlotte by finding the person who had murdered her and putting them behind bars.
As time goes on, Chase discovers secrets that tear him apart, secrets that Charlotte left behind for him to pick up.
