To Sleep, Perchance to Dream (Phan AU)
"To sleep, perchance to dream - ay, there's the rub. For in that sleep of death what dreams may come when we have shuffled off this mortal coil must give us pause..." (Shakespeare, Hamlet, III. I. 67-69.)
Every dragon will be defeated, every knight will drop his sword. Every kingdom must fall and every star will explode in a fiery death that will be forgotten. If there's no one to see it die, did it even live? Every song will end, every book has a final page and every artist has a last painting. Every child will wake up from their dreams.
Every imaginary friend must die.
What matters, then?
What matters is what happens before the dream ends.
