Thicker than Water
Cyri: a democratic society run by science and modern technology. Malefis: an elegant monarchy with culture, art, and most importantly, magic. Two sets of opposing ideals living side-by-side. What could possibly go wrong? Everything, apparently.
Thicker than Water is a young adult novel that combines science fiction and fantasy in the best way possible; by pitting them against one another. On the side of magic and culture, you have Grim Augustan Courcelle III. Crown Prince of Malefis, heir to the throne, a selfless and charming hero. On the side of science and technology you have Quinn Maddison, the extremely intelligent (and somewhat sociopathic) President of Cyri. It's no surprise when Quinn declares war on Malefis, and that Grim immediately takes up the sword to defend his people. Over the course of seven months both characters find themselves facing battle after battle, with love, heartbreak, treachery, espionage, and immeasurable grief all thrown into the mix. And at the end of it all, after the discovery of a long-held secret that shakes their reality, there is only one remaining question: who here is the real villain?
Moderate language, mild violence, mild/implied sexual content. This book is mostly unedited and will eventually be going through major revisions.
