Hello there, I'm Sang. No, I'm not going to give you my last name. As far as I'm concerned, I don't have one. I haven't since my stepmother died, and my sorry excuse for a father left. Marie didn't understand responsibility, and soon enough, she was in jail for her crazy, bright idea. She decided it would be amazing to get behind the wheel while drunk! Smart, right?
Now, here I am. Nineteen and alone, too afraid to move, too afraid to stay.
Well, I guess I'm not completely alone. I've always got Bella, my dog. She's my best friend and body guard. She's companionable and smart, to the point where she understands my signed commands.
Oh yeah! Did I mention I was deaf?
"Sorry," I sign, smirking. "Can't hear you. My awesomeness is too loud."
Luke cracks up, repeating my words to North, both aloud and signing. North turned his gaze back towards me, and I giggled as I caught his lips twitching up into a smile.
Luke leaned in and whispered something in his brother's ear, and North's smile dropped, anger sparking in his eyes.
"Hey! At least when I talk about people, I have the decency to look good while doing it!" I sign, pouting. I knew they must be discussing me; otherwise, Luke would've told me. I tapped my foot, waiting for him to translate.
He just doubled over in laughter.
