"There are three things I want you to understand. Number one: your life isn't a teen movie so what you think is going to happen, might not. Number two: if this fails, you can't blame me because you asked me to do this. And-"

"I like your optimism."

I stare at him, unamused. "And number three." I pause, wracking my brain for a third line. "No, that's it. I've only got two things."

God, this already isn't going to plan.

When Freya Liu-Hampton moved to America and enrolled in Mary Madison High, she didn't expect to become best friends with Dale Sampson. They share a love for superhero films, but that's pretty much where the similarities end.

After all, Freya is a realist. She likes Marvel, but doesn't dream of becoming Jean Grey. She makes mistakes, but isn't afraid of karma. And she believes in love, but she definitely doesn't believe in soulmates.

Not like Dale does anyway. Because even at the age of seventeen, he's searching for The One. It's a time-consuming struggle though and after another relationship fails, he decides to ask Freya for an impossible favour: to help him find his soulmate.

Freya is reluctant to agree, but that soon changes after she learns his older brother has a crush on her- and she wants Dale to help eradicate it as soon as humanely possible.
