People aren't always oblivious. They notice the scars, the bruises. They just never say anything. Why? Because Mckenzie had her excuse.
"Family problems," she said, smiling before heading out the door.
And it worked. That's all that mattered to Mckenzie. She just had to make sure nobody found out. That wouldn't end well. If it were her friends, they would just report it to the police. Then the police would go to her father, the man that everyone used to love. He had his excuse as well.
"She's just bullied at school."
