Chandler made a deal with her parents. She could leave home for college under three circumstances. 1. She would find a school that had a chapter of the Guided Studies Society. 2. She would join the respective Guided Studies Society. 3. She would remain a member of the Society for her full enrollment at college. Chandler understood partially what this meant. She would have an upperclassman mentor. She would be responsible for good grades and even better character. She bargained that she would be able to slip outside the rules a bit. She didn't plan on a contract, she didn't plan on punishment. She didn't plan on Matthew Branigan.
