Fighting the Tide
"I cover my face with my hands and let the tears fall silently, my chest in agonizing pain, as if my chest was being sat on by an elephant. I couldn't find myself to breathe normally, and my mind and body just felt frozen. The only thing I can feel is Marie and Jeana wrapping their arms around me to make me feel better as they both whisper reassurances, which at the moment, meant nothing.
Because I couldn't lose the person who was like a mother to me. Not after what happened to my mom. It can't happen.
Cassandra is taking every day step by step. And Fighting the Tide.
Life has always found a way to harm Cassandra's state of mind. She lost her mother when her mother's research crew was struck by a hurricane. Her father currently in the U.S. Navy and deployed. Leaving Cassandra all on her own in San Francisco at 21.
Cassandra, stuck in bouts of depression, lives in an apartment next door to a man she despises. Michael Summers.
Michael, who she sees as an arrogant, stubborn, and completely asinine human being, is throwing parties next door consistently. Never giving Cassandra a chance to pursue her studies in peace.
She soon starts to realize that Michael is more than he appears, and questions her emotions. Wanting to reject that she may in fact, be falling in love with Michael.
Will Cassandra find her way back to normalcy? Will she fall in love and let Michael help her Fight Her Tide? Only time will tell.
